Additional Underground Communication Information
|
The highly anticipated album from this underground cult heavyweight combines the visceral melodic presence of modern listening music with the force and volume of sound system dancehall devastation. "Underground Communication" is an exploration of hip-hop culture, featuring scores of MCs and rhythmic poetics mashed atop a heavy, driving range of tempo and, of course, those signature throbbing bass lines. Rooted in political conviction, philosophical intention, and backed by a rabid fan base, this release sets a new standard for the possibilities of merging music, art, new media, and social activism. Bassnectar is already gaining critical acclaim from tastemakers at URB, Flavorpill, and BPM, and has won the Nitevibe.com, SF Weekly, and SF Bay Guardian award honors for "San Francisco's Best DJ."

Several good tracks here - Worth the purchase of CD - the bass is mesmerizing, and the vocal samples are fresh.
i got this originally for the song "yo" it wasn't the version i wanted but as i listened to the rest of the cd i found myself enjoying it and its become better with each listening.
and vaguely dirty/ambient.We got mad talent here. but then it went out really quick. and was rather downtempo. . just not so much on this particular album. and this album channelled maybe like, 2 fibers. but kinda got a kick in the pants.Saw a show recently that pretty much rocked every fiber in my soul. and they rubbed together and sort of srtated a fire.
I bought this album after experiencing Loren at Burning Man this year, and I am extremely happy with it, even if my neighbors are not.
Kudos to Bassnectar and enjoy gobbling up every note and beat. It's about time someone came along to shake up and move the electronic music scene from self-gratification to social consciousness and political rebellion. And that BASS; once you hear it you will be addicted like a "Bumfights" crack head. It's been many years since an artist has pushed me to turn the volume dial to 11, but Lorin Ashton - aka Bassnectar - has succeeded in driving my neighbors to call the cops and my family to scream for mercy. After seeing him DESTROY the Root Society dome at Burning Man this year, I was captivated, moved, and elevated.
